Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures changes over time in general level of prices of goods and services that households acquire for the purpose of consumption. For construction of CPI numbers, two requisite components are weighing diagrams (consumption patterns) and price data collected at regular intervals. The data refers to All India Consumer Price Index with base year 2010 =100 and combined for both rural and urban area.
All India CPI (Cereal and Products) has increased from 123.4 in January 2015 to 123.9 in June 2015 showing an increase of 0.5 points. All India CPI (Vegetables) has increased from 133 in January 2015 to 139.6 in June 2015 showing an increase of 6.1 points. All India CPI (Fuel and Lighting) has increased from 124 in January 2015 to 129.2 in June 2015 showing an increase of 5.2 points. All India CPI (General) has increased from 119.5 in January 2015 to 123.0 in June 2015 showing an increase of 3.5 points.
CPI for rural area has increased from 120.3 in January 2015 to 124.1 in June 2015 showing an increase of 3.8 points. CPI (General) for urban area has increased from 118.5 in January 2015 to 121.7 in June 2015 showing an increase of 3.2 points.
