The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) upto 25.05.2016 by Public Sector Banks was 96345344, which was 55.91% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Public Sector Banks i.e. 172334277 upto 25.05.2016 in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY upto 25.05.2016 by Public Sector Banks was 75988933, which was 44.09% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Public Sector Banks i.e. 172334277 upto 25.05.2016 in the entire country.
The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) upto 25.05.2016 by Regional Rural Banks was 33362156, which was 85.89% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Regional Rural Banks i.e. 38842602 upto 25.05.2016 in the entire country.
