The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) as on 25.11.2015 was 117750529 which was 60.87% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY i.e. 193437174 as on 25.11.2015 by all banks in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY as on 25.11.2015 was 75686645 which was 39.13% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY i.e. 193437174 as on 25.11.2015 by all banks in the entire country.
The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) as on 25.11.2015 by Public Sector Banks was 83596701 which was 55.22% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Public Sector Banks i.e. 151386532 as on 25.11.2015 in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY as on 25.11.2015 by Public Sector Banks was 67789831 which was 44.78% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Public Sector Banks i.e. 151386532 as on 25.11.2015 in the entire country.
The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) as on 25.11.2015 by Regional Rural Banks was 29784339 which was 85.68% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Regional Rural Banks i.e. 34762369 as on 25.11.2015 in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY as on 25.11.2015 by Regional Rural Banks was 4978030 which was 14.32% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Regional Rural Banks i.e. 34762369 as on 25.11.2015 in the entire country.
The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) as on 25.11.2015 by Private Banks was 4369489 which was 59.95% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Private Banks i.e. 7288273 as on 25.11.2015 in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY as on 25.11.2015 by Private Banks was 2918784 which was 40.05% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Private Banks i.e. 7288273 as on 25.11.2015 in the entire country.
