Total target of 2668 kilometers had been set for railway track renewal in India during 2016-17, out of which 2487 kilometers (93.2%) had been renewed during that year. The railway zones namely South Eastern, South Central, East Coast, West Central, Northeast Frontier, North Western, South Western, Western, Southern, North Eastern and East Central were seen with more than the India’s achievement percentage (93.2%) in terms of railway track renewal v/s target during 2016-17.
The target of railway track renewal for South Eastern, South Central, East Coast, West Central, Northeast Frontier, North Western, South Western, Western, Southern, North Eastern and East Central zone was 103, 118, 103, 168, 37, 71, 105, 216, 198, 78 and 187 kilometers respectively during 2016-17. The actual renewal of railway track by South Eastern, South Central, East Coast, West Central, Northeast Frontier, North Western, South Western, Western, Southern, North Eastern and East Central zone was 190 (184.5%), 150 (127.1%), 119 (115.5%), 193 (114.9%), 42 (113.5%), 80 (112.7%), 117 (111.4%), 240 (111.1%), 207 (104.5%), 81 (103.8%) and 180 (96.3%) kilometers respectively during 2016-17.
The railway zones namely Eastern, Central, South East Central, North Central and Northern were seen with less than the India’s achievement percentage (93.2%) in terms of railway track renewal v/s target during 2016-17. The target of railway track renewal for Eastern, Central, South East Central, North Central and Northern zone was 192, 220, 174, 166 and 532 kilometers respectively during 2016-17. The actual renewal of railway track by Eastern, Central, South East Central, North Central and Northern zone was 178 (92.7%), 195 (88.6%), 123 (70.7%), 111 (66.9%) and 281 (52.8%) kilometers respectively during 2016-17.
Total target of 3600 kilometers had been set for railway track renewal in India during 2017-18, out of which 2007 kilometers (55.8%) had been renewed during 2017-18 (up to November 2017). The railway zones namely Northeast Frontier, South Eastern, West Central, Western, East Central, South Central and South Western were observed with more than the India’s achievement percentage (55.8%) in terms of railway track renewal v/s target during 2017-18 (up to November 2017).
The target of railway track renewal for Northeast Frontier, South Eastern, West Central, Western, East Central, South Central and South Western zone was 43, 209, 156, 252, 225, 147 and 170 kilometers respectively during 2017-18. The actual renewal of railway track by Northeast Frontier, South Eastern, West Central, Western, East Central, South Central and South Western zone was 42 (97.7%), 186 (89%), 129 (82.7%), 205 (81.3%), 163 (72.4%), 100 (68%) and 96 (56.5%) kilometers respectively during 2017-18 (up to November 2017).
The railway zones namely North Eastern, South East Central, Eastern, East Coast, North Western, North Central, Southern, Central and Northern were seen with less than the India’s achievement percentage (55.8%) in terms of railway track renewal v/s target during 2017-18 (up to November 2017). The target of railway track renewal for North Eastern, South East Central, Eastern, East Coast, North Western, North Central, Southern, Central and Northern zone was 105, 161, 246, 243, 155, 192, 406, 275 and 615 kilometers respectively during 2017-18. The actual renewal of railway track by North Eastern, South East Central, Eastern, East Coast, North Western, North Central, Southern, Central and Northern zone was 57 (54.3%), 83 (51.6%), 125 (50.8%), 122 (50.2%), 75 (48.4%), 92 (47.9%), 171 (42.1%), 115 (41.8%) and 246 (40%) kilometers respectively during 2017-18 (up to November 2017).
