Top 10 States in terms of budget Allocation under Modernisation of Police Force scheme during 2017-18

There was a total budget allocation of Rs. 769 crore under the scheme of Modernisation of Police Force (MPF) during 2017-18, which includes Rs. 45 crore for Mega City Policing and Rs. 38.45 crore for Contingency Reserve. The top 10 states in terms of budget Allocation under MPF scheme during 2017-18 were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Assam.

Budget allocation to Uttar Pradesh under MPF scheme was Rs. 77.16 crore during 2017-18. It accounted 10.03% of the total budget allocated for India under MPF scheme during 2017-18. There was a budget allocation of Rs. 57.54 crore to Maharashtra under MPF scheme during 2017-18, which accounted 7.48% of the total budget allocated for India under MPF scheme during 2017-18. Budget allocation to Jammu & Kashmir under MPF scheme was Rs. 48.73 crore during 2017-18. It accounted 6.34% of the total budget allocated for India under MPF scheme during 2017-18.

Budget allocation was Rs. 46.85 crore, Rs. 42.54 crore, Rs. 38.17 crore, Rs. 35.3 crore, Rs. 33.73 crore, Rs. 33.11 crore and Rs. 32.23 crore to Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Assam respectively under MPF scheme during 2017-18.

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 57.91% of the total budget allocated for India as a whole under the scheme of Modernisation of Police Force during 2017-18.
