We have observed an annual growth of 8.3% in Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks during 2015-16 over 2014-15 from Rs. 84532823 lakh. Annual growth of 16.41% has been seen in Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks to Rs. 106575567.01 lakh during 2016-17 versus Rs. 91550991.5 lakh during 2015-16. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks during 2016-17 were Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers of Tamil Nadu by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks was Rs. 13214456.68 lakh during 2016-17, up by 45.06% from Rs. 9109362.38 lakh during 2015-16. Tamil Nadu accounted for 12.4% of total Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers in India by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks during 2016-17. Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers of Andhra Pradesh by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks was Rs. 9286862.14 lakh during 2016-17, up by 25.27% from Rs. 7413594.2 lakh during 2015-16. Andhra Pradesh accounted for 8.71% of total Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers in India by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks during 2016-17. Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers of Uttar Pradesh by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks was Rs. 8158401.41 lakh during 2016-17, down by -6.91% from Rs. 8764167.01 lakh during 2015-16. Uttar Pradesh accounted for 7.66% of total Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers in India by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks during 2016-17.
Annual growth of 29.64% has been observed in Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers of Maharashtra by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks from Rs. 6277679.78 lakh during 2015-16 to Rs. 8138383.63 lakh during 2016-17. Maharashtra accounted for 7.64% of total Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers in India by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks during 2016-17. Annual decline of -7.96% has been observed in Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers of Karnataka by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks from Rs. 8483248.35 lakh during 2015-16 to Rs. 7808272.12 lakh during 2016-17. Karnataka accounted for 7.33% of total Agricultural credit/loans disbursement to the farmers in India by commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks during 2016-17.
