State/UT-wise Arms Seized under Arms Act during 2016

During 2016, the number of Arms Seized under Arms Act was 56516 in India; out of which the number of Fire Arms Seized was 37116 and Other than Fire Arms was 19400. Out of the total 37116 Fire Arms Seized, 36064 was under Un-licensed/ Improvised/ Crude/ Country-made Arms and 1052 was under Licensed/ Factory Made Arms. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of Arms Seized under Arms Act during 2016 were Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Bihar.

The number of Arms Seized under Arms Act was 27189 in Uttar Pradesh during 2016. It accounted 48.11% of the total number of Arms Seized under Arms Act in India during 2016. The number of Arms Seized under Arms Act was 8019 in Madhya Pradesh during 2016. It accounted 14.19% of the total number of Arms Seized under Arms Act in India during 2016. The number of Arms Seized under Arms Act was 5757 in Rajasthan during 2016, which accounted 10.19% of the total number of Arms Seized under Arms Act in India.
