Building Position of top 10 States/UTs in terms of functioning of Sub Centres in Tribal Areas as on 31st March 2017

The top 10 States/UTs in terms of functioning of maximum number of Sub Centres in Tribal Areas as on 31st March 2017 were West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam and Kerala.

There were 3206 Sub Centres functioning in Tribal Areas of West Bengal as on 31st March 2017. Out of which 2251 (70.2%), 737 (23%) and 218 (6.8%) Sub Centres were functioning in Government buildings, rented buildings and rent free Panchayat/ Vol. society buildings respectively as on 31-03-2017. There were 2952 Sub Centres functioning in Tribal Areas of Madhya Pradesh as on 31st March 2017. Out of which 2404 (81.4%), 331 (11.2%) and 217 (7.4%) Sub Centres were functioning in Government buildings, rented buildings and rent free Panchayat/ Vol. society buildings respectively as on 31-03-2017. There were 2804 Sub Centres functioning in Tribal Areas of Chhattisgarh as on 31st March 2017. Out of which 2185 (77.9%), 50 (1.8%) and 569 (20.3%) Sub Centres were functioning in Government buildings, rented buildings and rent free Panchayat/ Vol. society buildings respectively as on 31-03-2017.

The number of Sub Centres functioning in Tribal Areas of Gujarat was 2775 as on 31st March 2017. Out of these 2775 Sub Centres; 1684 were functioning in Government buildings, 144 were functioning in rented buildings and 947 were functioning in rent free Panchayat/ Vol. society buildings as on 31-03-2017. The number of Sub Centres functioning in Tribal Areas of Odisha was 2689 as on 31st March 2017. Out of these 2689 Sub Centres; 2054 were functioning in Government buildings, 458 were functioning in rented buildings and 177 were functioning in rent free Panchayat/ Vol. society buildings as on 31-03-2017.

As on 31st March 2017, there were 2465, 2057, 1658, 1283 and 831 Sub Centres functioning in Tribal Areas of Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam and Kerala respectively.

There were few States/UTs namely Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, A & N Island and Daman & Diu which were found with 100% Sub Centres functioning in Government buildings in Tribal Areas of the State/UT as on 31st March 2017.
