Age group-wise percentage share of Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction during 2016

There were a total of 89875 Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction (Sec.363 to 369 IPC) reported in India during 2016; Out of which, 23350 (26%) were male Victims and 66525 (74%) were female Victims. Out of these 89875 Victims reported during 2016, 54328 (60.4%) Victims were Children and 35547 (39.6%) Victims were Adults.

During 2016, Age group of ‘18 Years to 30 Years’ had the maximum weightage of 31% (27842) Victims of the total Victims in India followed by ‘16 Years to 18 Years’ and ‘12 Years to 16 Years’ etc. Age group of ‘16 Years to 18 Years’, ‘12 Years to 16 Years’, ‘30 Years to 45 Years’, 6 Years to 12 Years, Below 6 Years, ‘45 Years to 60 Years’ and ‘60 Years & Above’ had the weightage of 28.3% (25461), 24.2% (21724), 7.3% (6551), 5.8% (5247), 2.1% (1896), 1.1% (989) and 0.2% (165) respectively Victims of the total Victims of Kidnapping and Abduction (Sec.363 to 369 IPC) reported in India during 2016.
