State/UT-wise Pharmacists at Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres as on 31st March 2017

As on 31st March 2017, there were 25193 Pharmacists in Position at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) in India. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of maximum number of Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs in India as on 31-03-2017 were; Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh.

Among these top 5 states, Uttar Pradesh had the highest weightage of 11.44% (2883 Pharmacists) of the total Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs in India; followed by Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh as on 31st March 2017. There were 2523 Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs in Karnataka as on 31-03-2017. It accounted 10.01% of the total Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs in India as on 31-03-2017. There were 2082 Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs in Maharashtra as on 31-03-2017. It accounted 8.26% of the total Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs in India as on 31-03-2017.

In Odisha, there were 1691 Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs as on 31-03-2017; which accounted 6.71% of the total Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs in India. In Madhya Pradesh, there were 1687 Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs as on 31-03-2017; which accounted 6.7% of the total Pharmacists in Position at PHCs and CHCs in India.

These top 5 states accounted for 43.13% of the total number of Pharmacists in Position at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) in India as a whole as on 31st March 2017.
