Top 10 States/UTs in terms of Allopathic Doctors at Primary Health Centres in India as on 31st March 2017

As on 31st March 2017, there were 27124 Allopathic Doctors in Position at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in India. The top 10 States/UTs in terms of maximum number of Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs as on 31st March 2017 were; Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and Assam.

There were 2929 Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in Maharashtra as on 31-03-2017. It accounted 10.8% of the total Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in India as on 31-03-2017. There were 2759 Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in Tamil Nadu as on 31-03-2017. It accounted 10.17% of the total Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in India as on 31-03-2017. There were 2382 Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in Rajasthan as on 31-03-2017. It accounted 8.78% of the total Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in India as on 31-03-2017.

In Uttar Pradesh, there were 2209 Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs as on 31-03-2017; which accounted 8.14% of the total Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in India. In Karnataka, there were 2136 Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs as on 31-03-2017; which accounted 7.87% of the total Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in India.

There were 1786, 1644, 1229, 1169 and 1048 Allopathic Doctors in Position at PHCs in Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and Assam respectively as on 31-03-2017.

These top 10 states accounted for 71.12% of the total number of Allopathic Doctors in Position at Primary Health Centres in India as a whole as on 31st March 2017.
