Import of Alkali Chemical Products in Major Chemicals from 2009-10 to 2016-17

There are various products namely Soda Ash, Caustic Soda and Liquid Chlorine were imported to India under Alkali Chemical group in Major Chemicals during 2009-10 to 2016-17.

We have seen a compound annual growth rate of 3.25% in import of Soda Ash from 555956 metric tonne during 2009-10 to 695307 metric tonne during 2016-17. A maximum import of 725517 metric tonne was recorded in import of Soda Ash in 2014-15 during the period under consideration. A maximum annual growth of 55.57% was observed in import of Soda Ash in 2012-13 during the period under consideration.

We have seen a compound annual growth rate of 4.57% in import of Caustic Soda from 311417 metric tonne during 2009-10 to 425795 metric tonne during 2016-17. A maximum import of 484133 metric tonne was recorded in import of Caustic Soda in 2015-16 during the period under consideration. A maximum annual growth of 53.55% was observed in import of Caustic Soda in 2011-12 during the period under consideration.

We have seen a compound annual growth rate of -30.85% in import of Liquid Chlorine from 463 metric tonne during 2009-10 to 35 metric tonne during 2016-17. A maximum import of 2062 metric tonne was recorded in import of Liquid Chlorine in 2010-11 during the period under consideration. A maximum annual growth of 653.49% was observed in import of Liquid Chlorine in 2014-15 during the period under consideration.
