Percentage of Primary Schools with Drinking Water Facility during 2015-16

Increasing trend has been seen in India in Percentage of Primary Schools having Drinking Water Facility from 94.09% in 2013-14 to 95.78 % in 2015-16.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Goa, Lakshadweep and Puducherry have 100% Primary Schools having Drinking Water Facility during 2015-16. Meghalaya has lowest percentage of Primary Schools having Drinking Water Facility 62.16% in 2015-16 in comparison with other States/UTs.

Thirteen States/UTs viz. Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Bihar, Telangana, Jammu And Kashmir, Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya were below the National value 95.78% during 2015-16.
