State/UT-wise Rate of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) during 2016

Rate of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) was 233.6 in India during 2016. Number of Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) in India was 2851563, 2949400 and 2975711 during 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of having highest rate of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) in India during 2016 were: Delhi, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Assam.

Rate of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) was 974.9 in Delhi during 2016. In Delhi there were 155654, 191377 and 209519 Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported during 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Delhi accounted 7% of the total Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported in India during 2016. Rate of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) was 727.6 in Kerala during 2016. In Kerala there were 206789, 257074 and 260097 Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported during 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Kerala accounted 8.7% of the total Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported in India during 2016.

Rate of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) was 337.9 in Madhya Pradesh during 2016. In Madhya Pradesh there were 272423, 268614 and 264418 Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported during 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Madhya Pradesh accounted 8.9% of the total Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported in India during 2016. Rate of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) was 320.6 in Haryana during 2016. In Haryana there were 79947, 84466 and 88527 Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported during 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Haryana accounted 3% of the total Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported in India during 2016.

Rate of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) was 313.9 in Assam during 2016. In Assam there were 94337, 103616 and 102250 Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported during 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Assam accounted 3.4% of the total Incidence of Cognizable Crimes (IPC) reported in India during 2016.
