Top 5 States/UTs in terms of Production of Muga Silk during 2015-16

We have seen a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.01% in production of Muga Silk in India from 124 metric tonne during 2010-11 to 166 metric tonne during 2015-16. We have seen an annual growth of 5.06% in production of Muga Silk in India during 2015-16 over the year 2014-15. There was a growth of 6.76% in production of Muga Silk in India from 148 metric tonne during 2013-14 to 158 metric tonne during 2014-15. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of production of Muga Silk during 2015-16 were: Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.

Production of Muga Silk in Assam was 142 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 85.54% of the total Muga Silk produced in India during the year. Production of Muga Silk in Meghalaya was 18 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 10.84% of the total Muga Silk produced in India during the year. Production of Muga Silk in Nagaland was 2 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 1.2% of the total Muga Silk produced in India during the year.

Production of Muga Silk in Arunachal Pradesh was 2 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 1.2% of the total Muga Silk produced in India during the year. Production of Muga Silk in Manipur was 1 metric tonne during 2015-16. It accounted 0.6% of the total Muga Silk produced in India during the year.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 99.4% of the total Muga Silk produced in India as a whole during 2015-16.
