Passenger Kilometres of Railways from 1990-91 to 2013-14

The total passenger kilometres travelled by the Sub-urban passengers of the Indian Railways in the year 1990-91 was 59578 million kilometres. The   total passenger kilometres travelled by the Non – Sub-urban passengers of the Indian Railways in the year 1990-91 was 236066 million kilometres.

The total passenger kilometres travelled by the Sub-urban passengers of the Indian Railways in the year 2000-01 was 88872 million kilometres. It recorded a growth of 29294 million kilometres (49.17%) as compared to the year 1990-91. The   total passenger kilometres travelled by the Non – Sub-urban passengers of the Indian Railways in the year 2000-01 was 368150 million kilometres. It recorded a growth of 132084 million kilometres (55.95%) as compared to the year 1990-91.

The total passenger kilometres travelled by the Sub-urban passengers of the Indian Railways in the year 2010-11 was 137127 million kilometres. It recorded a growth of 48255 million kilometres (54.3%) as compared to the year 2000-01. The   total passenger kilometres travelled by the Non – Sub-urban passengers of the Indian Railways in the year 2010-11 was 841381 million kilometres. It recorded a growth of 473231 million kilometres (128.54%) as compared to the year 2000-01.

The total passenger kilometres travelled by the Sub-urban passengers of the Indian Railways in the year 2013-14 was 168589 million kilometres. It recorded a growth of 31462 million kilometres (22.94%) as compared to the year 2010-11. The   total passenger kilometres travelled by the Non – Sub-urban passengers of the Indian Railways in the year 2013-14 was 990153 million kilometres. It recorded a growth of 148772 million kilometres (17.68%) as compared to the year 2010-11.
