Export of Coir and Coir Products in 2014-15

India is a major exporter of coir and coir products to the various countries around the world. The data on the export of coir and coir products from India in the financial year 2014-15 has been analysed with respect to coir and coir products.

The export of coir and coir products from India was 626666 tonnes in 2014-15. It increased by 89626 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, It had shown an increase of 16.69% as compared to the year 2013-14.There were 8 coir products having export of more than 1000 tonnes viz. Coir Pith, Coir Fibre, Tufted Mats, Handloom Mats, Curled Coir, Geo-Textiles, Coir Yarn and Handloom Matting in 2014-15.

The export of Coir Pith was 316425 tonnes in 2014-15. It increased by 44930 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, it had shown an increase of 16.55% as compared to the year 2013-14. The export of Coir Fibre was 219103 tonnes in 2014-15. It increased by 45201 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, it had shown an increase of 25.99% as compared to the year 2013-14.

The export of Tufted Mats was 41284 tonnes in 2014-15. It decreased by -2468 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, it had shown a decrease of -5.64% as compared to the year 2013-14. The export of Handloom Mats was 25354 tonnes in 2014-15. It increased by 2745 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, it had shown an increase of 12.14% as compared to the year 2013-14.

The export of Curled Coir was 12621 tonnes in 2014-15. It increased by 1358 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, it had shown an increase of 12.06% as compared to the year 2013-14. The export of Geo-Textiles was 4236 tonnes in 2014-15. It decreased by -232 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, it had shown a decrease of -5.19% as compared to the year 2013-14.

The export of Coir Yarn was 4070 tonnes in 2014-15. It decreased by -177 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, it had shown a decrease of -4.17% as compared to the year 2013-14. The export of Handloom Matting was 1667 tonnes in 2014-15. It decreased by -1759 tonnes in 2014-15. In percentage terms, it had shown a decrease of -51.34% as compared to the year 2013-14.
