Educational Status of Suicide Victims during 2014

During the year 2014, there were a total of 131666 suicides committed in All India. Out of which 89129 (67.7%) suicides were committed by male, 42521 (32.3%) suicides were committed by female and 16 (0.01%) suicides were committed by transgender.
As per suicides point of view, top 3 Education groups were Matriculate/Secondary (upto class-10), Middle (upto class-8) and Primary (upto class-5) people which had committed highest number of suicides i.e. 27002 (20.5%), 26566 (20.2%) and 25020 (19%) respectively. Thus each group had contributed more than 19% of All India suicides.
In Matriculate/Secondary (upto class-10) Education group, there were 19076 suicides committed by male, 7925 suicides committed by female and 1 suicide committed by transgender. In Middle (upto class-8) Education group, there were 17831 suicides committed by male, 8733 suicides committed by female and 2 suicides committed by transgender. In Primary (upto class-5) Education group, there were 16493 suicides committed by male, 8527 suicides committed by female and 0 suicide committed by female.
As per suicides point of view, Bottom 3 Education groups were Professionals (MBA; etc.), Diploma/ITI/Certificate and Graduate and above people which had committed lowest number of suicides i.e. 383 (0.3%), 1509 (1.1%) and 3737 (2.8%) respectively. Thus each group had contributed less than 3% of All India suicides.
In Professionals (MBA; etc.) Education group, there were 289 suicides committed by male, 94 suicides committed by female and 0 suicide committed by transgender. In Diploma/ITI/Certificate Education group, there were 1124 suicides committed by male, 385 suicides committed by female and 0 suicide committed by transgender. In Graduate and above Education group, there were 2670 suicides committed by male, 1067 suicides committed by female and 0 suicide committed by transgender.
Apart from the above 6 mentioned Education groups, 3 other groups were namely No Education, Higher Secondary/ Intermediate/ Pre-University (upto class-12) and Status not known which had committed total of 18778 (14.3%), 14428 (11.%) and 14243 (10.8%) suicides respectively.
