Top 10 States in Expenditure for Development of National Highways in 2015-16

The top 10 States/UTs in terms of the amount of expenditure for development of national highways were: West Bengal, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha and Uttarakhand.

The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in West Bengal was Rs. 653.05 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 369.44 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 283.61 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 130.26%. The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Rajasthan was Rs. 571.79 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 464.63 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 107.16 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 433.59%.

The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 566.67 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 319.3 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 247.37 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 129.08%. The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Bihar was Rs. 481.18 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 204.53 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 276.65 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 73.93%.

The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 351.67 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 143.17 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 208.5 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 68.67%. The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Tamil Nadu was Rs. 336.47 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 169.34 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 167.13 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 101.32%.

The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Andhra Pradesh was Rs. 311.01 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 181.29 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 129.72 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 139.75%. The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Karnataka was Rs. 283.56 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 83.66 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 199.9 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 41.85%.

The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Odisha was Rs. 280.8 crores in 2015-16. It decreased by Rs. -10.85 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 291.65 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual decrease recorded in the year 2015-16 was -3.72%. The amount of expenditure for development of national highways in Uttarakhand was Rs. 245.69 crores in 2015-16. It increased by Rs. 76.18 crores as compared to the amount of Rs. 169.51 crores in 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 44.94%.
