Mean Temperature in India from 1905 to 2015

The annual mean temperature was 23.71 degree Celsius in the year 1905. In 1905, the mean temperature during January-February was 17.58 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during March-May was 24.99 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during June-September was 27.37 degree Celsius; and the mean temperature during October-December was 21.48 degree Celsius.

The annual mean temperature was 23.95 degree Celsius in the year 1925. In 1925, the mean temperature during January-February was 18.31 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during March-May was 26.18 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during June-September was 26.92 degree Celsius; and the mean temperature during October-December was 21.51 degree Celsius.

The annual mean temperature was 23.92 degree Celsius in the year 1945. In 1945, the mean temperature during January-February was 18.35 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during March-May was 25.71 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during June-September was 27.43 degree Celsius; and the mean temperature during October-December was 21.16 degree Celsius.

The annual mean temperature was 24.07 degree Celsius in the year 1965. In 1965, the mean temperature during January-February was 19.22 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during March-May was 25.24 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during June-September was 27.08 degree Celsius; and the mean temperature during October-December was 22.1 degree Celsius.

The annual mean temperature was 24.45 degree Celsius in the year 1985. In 1985, the mean temperature during January-February was 19.61 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during March-May was 26.72 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during June-September was 27.12 degree Celsius; and the mean temperature during October-December was 21.84 degree Celsius.

The annual mean temperature was 24.58 degree Celsius in the year 2005. In 2005, the mean temperature during January-February was 19.79 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during March-May was 26.33 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during June-September was 27.64 degree Celsius; and the mean temperature during October-December was 21.93 degree Celsius.

The annual mean temperature was 24.91 degree Celsius in the year 2015. In 2015, the mean temperature during January-February was 20.12 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during March-May was 26.29 degree Celsius; the mean temperature during June-September was 27.73 degree Celsius; and the mean temperature during October-December was 22.99 degree Celsius.

Thus, the annual mean temperature of India has increased approximately by 1 degree Celsius as compared to the early decades of 20th Century.  The annual mean temperature of India crossed 25 degree Celsius mark in 1995 for the first time. In the 21st century till 2015, annual mean temperature of India was above 25 degree Celsius in three years viz. 2006, 2009 and 2010. It is, therefore, undeniably a cause of concern from the global warming and climate conservation perspective.
