Nursing Staff at Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres in March 2014 and March 2015

The number of nursing staff at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) in India as a whole was 65039 in March 2015. It had shown an increase of 1101 in the number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs as compared to March 2014. There were 11 states having more than 2000 number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in March 2015 viz.  Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Rajasthan was 9250 in March 2015. It accounted for 14.22% of the total number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in India in March 2015. It had shown an increase of 564 in the number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs as compared to March 2014.

The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Tamil Nadu was 7349 in March 2015. It accounted for 11.3% of the total number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in India in March 2015. It had shown an increase of 610 in the number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs as compared to March 2014. The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in West Bengal was 7047 in March 2015. It accounted for 10.84% of the total number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in India in March 2015. It had shown a decline of -556 in the number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs as compared to March 2014.

The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Uttar Pradesh was 4412 in March 2015. It accounted for 6.78% of the total number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in India in March 2015. It had the same number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs as compared to March 2014. The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Kerala was 3969 in March 2015. It accounted for 6.1% of the total number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in India in March 2015. It had shown an increase of 2 in the number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs as compared to March 2014.

The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Madhya Pradesh was 3629 in March 2015 (5.58% of All India). The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Karnataka was 3176 in March 2015 (4.88% of All India). The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Assam was 3056 in March 2015 (4.7% of All India).

The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Gujarat was 2705 in March 2015 (4.16% of All India). The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Maharashtra was 2535 in March 2015 (3.9% of All India). The number of nursing staff at PHCs and CHCs in Andhra Pradesh was 2006 in March 2015 (3.08% of All India).
