Top 10 States in Villages Electrified in 2015-16

The top 10 states in terms of the number of villages electrified were: Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Manipur during 2015-16.

The number of villages electrified in Bihar was 341 in 2014-15. It increased to 1754 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 1413 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 414.37% as compared to the year 2014-15.

The number of villages electrified in Uttar Pradesh was 59 in 2014-15. It increased to 1305 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 1246 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 2111.86% as compared to the year 2014-15. The number of villages electrified in Odisha was 13 in 2014-15. It increased to 1264 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 1251 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 9623.08% as compared to the year 2014-15.

The number of villages electrified in Assam was 190 in 2014-15. It increased to 942 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 752 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 395.79% as compared to the year 2014-15. The number of villages electrified in Jharkhand was 161 in 2014-15. It increased to 750 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 589 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 365.84% as compared to the year 2014-15.

The number of villages electrified in Chhattisgarh was 67 in 2014-15. It increased to 405 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 338 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 504.48% as compared to the year 2014-15. The number of villages electrified in Madhya Pradesh was 86 in 2014-15. It increased to 214 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 128 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 148.84% as compared to the year 2014-15.

The number of villages electrified in Arunachal Pradesh was 107 in 2014-15. It increased to 174 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 67 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 62.62% as compared to the year 2014-15. The number of villages electrified in Rajasthan was 70 in 2014-15. It increased to 163 in 2015-16, recording a growth of 93 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the annual growth was 132.86% as compared to the year 2014-15.

The number of villages electrified in Manipur was 192 in 2014-15. It decreased to 75 in 2015-16, recording a decline of -117 in the number of villages electrified as compared to 2014-15. Manipur was the only state among the above mentioned states, which had recorded a decline in the number of villages electrified on the year-on-year basis.
