Un-electrified Villages as on 31-05-2015

The total number of un-electrified villages in India as on 31-05-2015 was 19706. The percentage of electrified villages in India as a whole as on 31-05-2015 was 96.7%.

The 10 States/UTs with the highest number of un-electrified villages as on 31-05-2015 were: Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam and Chhattisgarh.

The number of un-electrified villages in Rajasthan as on 31-05-2015 was 4166. The percentage of electrified villages in Rajasthan as on 31-05-2015 was 90.4%. The number of un-electrified villages in Odisha as on 31-05-2015 was 3878. The percentage of electrified villages in Odisha as on 31-05-2015 was 91.9%. The number of un-electrified villages in Jharkhand as on 31-05-2015 was 2105. The percentage of electrified villages in Jharkhand as on 31-05-2015 was 92.9%.

The number of un-electrified villages in Bihar as on 31-05-2015 was 1757. The percentage of electrified villages in Bihar as on 31-05-2015 was 95.5%. The number of un-electrified villages in Arunachal Pradesh as on 31-05-2015 was 1564. The percentage of electrified villages in Arunachal Pradesh as on 31-05-2015 was 70.3%, which was the lowest percentage amongst all the States/UTs of India.

The 15 States/UTs which have achieved 100% village electrification as on 31-05-2015 were: Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Chandigarh, D & N Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Pondicherry.
