The amount sanctioned for eco-tourism projects in India was Rs. 1719.11 crores in 2015-16. There were 3 states having amount sanctioned for eco-tourism projects of more than Rs. 100 crores viz. Assam, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan in 2015-16.
The amount sanctioned for eco-tourism projects in Assam was Rs. 129.65 crores in 2015-16. Assam was at the top with the maximum amount of Rs. 129.65 crores for eco-tourism projects in 2015-16 among all the States/UTs of India. It had a share of 7.54% in the total amount sanctioned for eco-tourism projects in India in 2015-16.
The amount sanctioned for eco-tourism projects in Uttarakhand was Rs. 115.15 crores in 2015-16. It had a share of 6.7% in the total amount sanctioned for eco-tourism projects in India in 2015-16.
