Railway Wagon Usage from 2000-01 to 2013-14

The wagon kilometres per wagon day (Broad Guage) for the Indian Railways in the year 2005-06 were 217.5 kilometres. It recorded a growth of 38.5 kilometres (21.51%) as compared to the year 2000-01. The wagon kilometres per wagon day (Meter Guage) for the Indian Railways in the year 2005-06 were 36.4 kilometres. It recorded a decline of -7.4 kilometres (-16.89%) as compared to the year 2000-01. The wagon kilometres per wagon day (Broad Guage) for the Indian Railways in the year 2010-11 were 262.1 kilometres. It recorded a growth of 44.6 kilometres (20.51%) as compared to the year 2005-06. The wagon kilometres per wagon day (Meter Guage) for the Indian Railways in the year 2010-11 were 31.6 kilometres. It recorded a decline of -4.8 kilometres (-13.19%) as compared to the year 2005-06.

The wagon kilometres per wagon day (Broad Guage) for the Indian Railways in the year 2013-14 were 266.5 kilometres. It recorded a growth of 4.4 kilometres (1.68%) as compared to the year 2010-11. The wagon kilometres per wagon day (Meter Guage) for the Indian Railways in the year 2013-14 were 27 kilometres. It recorded a decline of -4.6 kilometres (-14.56%) as compared to the year 2010-11. The wagon kilometres per wagon day (Broad Guage) for the Indian Railways recorded a growth of 87.5 kilometres (48.88%) during the period from 2000-01 to 2013-14. The wagon kilometres per wagon day (Meter Guage) for the Indian Railways recorded a decline of -16.8 kilometres (-38.36%) during the period from 2000-01 to 2013-14.
