Sum Assured under Postal Life Insurance Policies from 2001-02 to 2014-15

The amount of sum assured under Postal Life Insurance (PLI) policies was Rs. 11870.3 crores in 2001-02.

The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 13676.8 crores in 2002-03. It increased by 1806.5 as compared to 2001-02. In percentage terms, the growth was 15.21%. The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 15917.61 crores in 2003-04. It increased by 2240.81 as compared to 2002-03. In percentage terms, the growth was 16.38%. The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 18747.21 crores in 2004-05. It increased by 2829.6 as compared to 2003-04. In percentage terms, the growth was 17.77%.

The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 22951.6 crores in 2005-06. It increased by 4204.39 as compared to 2004-05. In percentage terms, the growth was 22.43%. The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 26753.17 crores in 2006-07. It increased by 3801.57 as compared to 2005-06. In percentage terms, the growth was 16.56%. The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 31469 crores in 2007-08. It increased by 4715.83 as compared to 2006-07. In percentage terms, the growth was 17.63%.

The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 38403 crores in 2008-09. It increased by 6934 as compared to 2007-08. In percentage terms, the growth was 22.03%. The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 51209.9 crores in 2009-10. It increased by 12806.9 as compared to 2008-09. In percentage terms, the growth was 33.34%.

The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 64077.9 crores in 2010-11. It increased by 12868 as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the growth was 25.12%. The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 76591.34 crores in 2011-12. It increased by 12513.44 as compared to 2010-11. In percentage terms, the growth was 19.53%. The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 88896.47 crores in 2012-13. It increased by 12305.13 as compared to 2011-12. In percentage terms, the growth was 16.07%. The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 102276.09 crores in 2013-14. It increased by 13379.62 as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the growth was 15.05%.

The amount of sum assured under PLI policies was Rs. 109106.93 crores in 2014-15. It increased by 6830.84 as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the growth was 6.68%.

The maximum annual growth in the amount of sum assured under PLI policies of Rs. 13379.62 crores was recorded in the year 2013-14 during the period under consideration. The maximum annual growth in percentage terms in the amount of sum assured under PLI policies of 33.34% was recorded in the year 2009-10 during the period under consideration.
