Male Students Getting Scholarship in 2012-2013

Ministry of Human Resource Development had initiated an All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) in 2011 to prepare a sound database on Higher Education in the country.  The survey covers all the institutions in the country engaged in imparting the higher education.  It is getting updated from the annual data submitted by the institutions.

The number of male students availing scholarship for higher education in All India in 2012-2013 was 2754960. The Top 5 State/UTs with the maximum number of male students getting scholarship in 2012-2013 were: Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The number of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Maharashtra in 2012-2013 was 526045. Thus, the percentage of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Maharashtra was 19.09% of total male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13. The number of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Tamil Nadu in 2012-2013 was 343477. Thus, the percentage of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Tamil Nadu was 12.47% of total male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13. The number of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Uttar Pradesh in 2012-2013 was 325787. Thus, the percentage of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Uttar Pradesh was 11.83% of total male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.

The number of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Andhra Pradesh in 2012-2013 was 282184. Thus, the percentage of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Andhra Pradesh was 10.24% of total male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13. The number of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Telangana in 2012-2013 was 211381. Thus, the percentage of male students availing scholarship for higher education in Telangana was 7.67% of total male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.
