State Level Consumer Price Index – January 2015 to June 2015

Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures changes over time in general level of prices of goods and services that households acquire for the purpose of consumption. For construction of CPI numbers, two requisite components are weighing diagrams (consumption patterns) and price data collected at regular intervals. The data refers to State wise Consumer Price Index with base year 2010 =100.

The CPI has been increased in June 2015 as compared to January 2015 in all States and UTs.

The 5 States/UTs with highest increase in CPI were Puducherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Daman and Diu, Chhattisgarh and Lakshadweep.

CPI for Puducherry has increased from 120.7 in January 2015 to 131.5 in June 2015 showing an increase of 10.8 points. CPI for Arunachal Pradesh has increased from 123.8 in January 2015 to 130.8 in June 2015 showing an increase of 7.0 points.  CPI for Daman and Diu has increased from 122.7 in January 2015 to 129.2 in June 2015 showing an increase of 6.5 points. CPI for Chhattisgarh has increased from 120.9 in January 2015 to 127.3 in June 2015 showing an increase of 6.4 points. CPI for Lakshadweep has increased from 115.7 in January 2015 to 122.0 in June 2015 showing an increase of 6.3 points.

The 5 States/UTs with lowest increase in CPI were Mizoram (0.3 point), Andaman and Nicobar (1.0 point), West Bengal (1.9 points), Punjab (2.0 points) and Tripura (2.0 points).
