Physical Progress of Rural Roads under Bharat Nirman from 2005-06 to 2014-15

The rural roads under Bharat Nirman were constructed to cover 5210 habitations through new connectivity during the year 2005-06. The total length of the rural roads constructed under Bharat Nirman to cover habitations through new connectivity was 18054.3 kilometres during the year 2005-06.

The rural roads under Bharat Nirman were constructed to cover 8251 habitations through new connectivity during the year 2006-07. The number of habitations covered increased by 3041 as compared to 2005-06. In percentage terms, the increase was 58.37%. The total length of the rural roads constructed under Bharat Nirman to cover habitations through new connectivity was 21422.85 kilometres during the year 2006-07. The length of rural roads constructed increased by 3368.55 kilometres as compared to 2005-06. In percentage terms, the increase was 18.66%.

The rural roads under Bharat Nirman were constructed to cover 4627 habitations through new connectivity during the year 2010-11. The number of habitations covered increased by 455 as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the increase was 10.91%. The total length of the rural roads constructed under Bharat Nirman to cover habitations through new connectivity was 19391.15 kilometres during the year 2010-11. The length of rural roads constructed decreased by -1360.73 kilometres as compared to 2009-10. In percentage terms, the decrease was -6.56%.

The rural roads under Bharat Nirman were constructed to cover 4690 habitations through new connectivity during the year 2012-13. The number of habitations covered increased by 553 as compared to 2011-12. In percentage terms, the increase was 13.37%. The total length of the rural roads constructed under Bharat Nirman to cover habitations through new connectivity was 17314.79 kilometres during the year 2012-13. The length of rural roads constructed increased by 1767.22 kilometres as compared to 2011-12. In percentage terms, the increase was 11.37%.

The rural roads under Bharat Nirman were constructed to cover 2474 habitations through new connectivity during the year 2013-14. The number of habitations covered decreased by -2216 as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the decrease was -47.25%. The total length of the rural roads constructed under Bharat Nirman to cover habitations through new connectivity was 14506 kilometres during the year 2013-14. The length of rural roads constructed decreased by -2808.79 kilometres as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the decrease was -16.22%.

The rural roads under Bharat Nirman were constructed to cover 1445 habitations through new connectivity during the year 2014-15. The number of habitations covered decreased by -1029 as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the decrease was -41.59%. The total length of the rural roads constructed under Bharat Nirman to cover habitations through new connectivity was 15386.84 kilometres during the year 2014-15. The length of rural roads constructed increased by 880.84 kilometres as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the increase was 6.07%.

One of the reasons for the decline in the number of habitations covered by the rural roads constructed under Bharat Nirman through new connectivity during the year 2013-14 and 2014-15, is the inaccessibility or the remoteness of the habitations covered.
