Premature release of prison inmates in India in 2013 was 4146. Out of these, the number of males was 4091, while the number of females was 55. Thus, the percentage of males in prison inmates released prematurely was 98.67%, while the percentage of females was 1.33%. Top 5 states in premature release of prison inmates in 2013 were: Bihar, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Premature release of prison inmates in Bihar in 2013 was 1413. Out of these, the number of males was 1408, while the number of females was 5. Thus, the percentage of males in prison inmates released prematurely was 99.65%, while the percentage of females was 0.35%. Premature release of prison inmates in Maharashtra in 2013 was 701. Out of these, the number of males was 687, while the number of females was 14. Thus, the percentage of males in prison inmates released prematurely was 98%, while the percentage of females was 2%. Premature release of prison inmates in Andhra Pradesh in 2013 was 390. Out of these, the number of males was 377, while the number of females was 13. Thus, the percentage of males in prison inmates released prematurely was 96.67%, while the percentage of females was 3.33%.
