Central Funds Released for MGNREGA during 2016-17

The central funds released for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in India as on 04.05.2016 was Rs. 1641921.15 lakhs for the year 2016-17. The top 10 states in terms of the central funds released for MGNREGA were: Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Karnataka for the year 2016-17.

The central funds released for MGNREGA in Andhra Pradesh was Rs. 282042.2 lakhs for the year 2016-17. It was 17.18% of the central funds released for MGNREGA in India for the year 2016-17. The central funds released for MGNREGA in West Bengal was Rs. 239130.4 lakhs for the year 2016-17. It was 14.56% of the central funds released for MGNREGA in India for the year 2016-17.

The central funds released for MGNREGA in Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 140716.2 lakhs for the year 2016-17. It was 8.57% of the central funds released for MGNREGA in India for the year 2016-17. The central funds released for MGNREGA in Telangana was Rs. 120299.9 lakhs for the year 2016-17. It was 7.33% of the central funds released for MGNREGA in India for the year 2016-17. The central funds released for MGNREGA in Chhattisgarh was Rs. 102119.7 lakhs for the year 2016-17. It was 6.22% of the central funds released for MGNREGA in India for the year 2016-17.

These top 5 states accounted for 53.86% of the total central funds released for MGNREGA in India as a whole for the year 2016-17.

The central funds released for MGNREGA in Maharashtra was Rs. 81729.8 lakhs for the year 2016-17 (4.98% of All India). The central funds released for MGNREGA in Jharkhand was Rs. 78916.7 lakhs for the year 2016-17 (4.81% of All India). The central funds released for MGNREGA in Tamil Nadu was Rs. 74976.6 lakhs for the year 2016-17 (4.57% of All India). The central funds released for MGNREGA in Rajasthan was Rs. 69406.07 lakhs for the year 2016-17 (4.23% of All India). The central funds released for MGNREGA in Karnataka was Rs. 67337.68 lakhs for the year 2016-17 (4.1% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 76.55% of the total central funds released for MGNREGA in India as a whole for the year 2016-17.
