Government of India has launched Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) for the rural areas with the following components: (i) Separation of agriculture and non-agriculture feeders in the rural areas; (ii) Strengthening and augmentation of sub-transmission and distribution (ST and D) infrastructure in rural areas; (iii) Rural electrification. The visualisation analyzes the status of sanctioned projects on renewable energy sources for rural electrification in case of off-grid villages under DDUGJY as on 29.02.2016.
The amount of sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY was Rs. 121668.3 lakhs as on 29.02.2016 for various states viz. Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, Bihar, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Kerala and Uttarakhand. The total subsidy amount for all these states was Rs. 102264.26 lakhs. The total subsidy amount constituted 84.05% of the total sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY.
The top 5 states in terms of the sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY were: Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh as on 29.02.2016 – each of these five states had a sanction of above Rs. 10,000 crores.
The amount of sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY for the state of Assam was Rs. 26670.84 lakhs as on 29.02.2016. The total subsidy amount for Assam was Rs. 24003.76 lakhs. The total subsidy amount constituted 90% of the total sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY. The amount of sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY for the state of Chhattisgarh was Rs. 20570.96 lakhs as on 29.02.2016. The total subsidy amount for Chhattisgarh was Rs. 15844.62 lakhs. The total subsidy amount constituted 77.02% of the total sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY. The amount of sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY for the state of Jharkhand was Rs. 16809.91 lakhs as on 29.02.2016. The total subsidy amount for Jharkhand was Rs. 12921.07 lakhs. The total subsidy amount constituted 76.87% of the total sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY.
The amount of sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY for the state of Arunachal Pradesh was Rs. 11189 lakhs as on 29.02.2016. The total subsidy amount for Arunachal Pradesh was Rs. 10070.1 lakhs. The total subsidy amount constituted 90% of the total sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY. The amount of sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY for the state of Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 10504.57 lakhs as on 29.02.2016. The total subsidy amount for Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 8285.98 lakhs. The total subsidy amount constituted 78.88% of the total sanctioned project cost under DDUGJY.
