Internet Subscribers in India in September 2014

The internet subscribers in India were using various ways to access internet like wired phones/devices, fixed wireless phones/devices and mobile wireless phones//devices on the broadband as well as narrowband.

The number of wired phones/devices in the broadband segment was 151.3 lakhs. The number of fixed wireless phones/devices in the broadband segment was 4.2 lakhs. The number of mobile wireless phones/devices in the broadband segment was 601.8 lakhs. The percentage of wired phones/devices was 19.98% of the total internet subscribers in the broadband segment. The percentage of fixed wireless phones/devices was 0.55% of the total internet subscribers in the broadband segment. The percentage of mobile wireless phones/devices was 79.47% of the total internet subscribers in the broadband segment.

The number of wired phones/devices in the narrowband segment was 35.7 lakhs. The number of fixed wireless phones/devices in the narrowband segment was 0.4 lakhs. The number of mobile wireless phones/devices in the narrowband segment was 1750.6 lakhs. The percentage of wired phones/devices was 2% of the total internet subscribers in the narrowband segment. The percentage of fixed wireless phones/devices was 0.02% of the total internet subscribers in the narrowband segment. The percentage of mobile wireless phones/devices was 97.98% of the total internet subscribers in the narrowband segment.

The number of wired phones/devices in the both broadband and narrowband segments put together was 187 lakhs. The number of fixed wireless phones/devices in the both broadband and narrowband segments put together was 4.6 lakhs. The number of mobile wireless phones/devices in the both broadband and narrowband segments put together was 2352.4 lakhs. The percentage of wired phones/devices was 7.35% of the total internet subscribers in the both broadband and narrowband segments put together. The percentage of fixed wireless phones/devices was 0.18% of the total internet subscribers in the both broadband and narrowband segments put together. The percentage of mobile wireless phones/devices was 92.47% of the total internet subscribers in the both broadband and narrowband segments put together.
