During 2007 to 2012, total 65,971 villages have been electrified and free electricity connections to 187.53 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) households have been provided under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY).
In 2009-10 and 2010-11 RGGVY has over achieved the target, In these two years 36,680 villages have been electrified with an achievement of 105% of its target and free electricity connections to 106.02 lakh Below Poverty Line (BPL) households have been provided with an achievement of 113% of its target.
