During 2001-2011, number of accidents per lakh population has increased at 0.4% CAGR and Number of accidents per ten thousand vehicles has sharply declined at -7% CAGR. In the past 10 years number of accidents per lakh population was maximum (42.46) in 2007 and 2010. Number of accidents per lakh population has declined by 3.2% and number of accidents per ten thousand vehicles has declined by 10.3% in 2011 with respect to 2010.
