Tetanus Immunisation Achievement for Expectant Mothers (II+ Booster) in India during 2008-13

India has witnessed a decreasing trend in achievement of Tetanus Immunisation (II+ Booster) coverage for Expectant Mothers during 2008-2013. In 2008-09, percentage of the achievement was 85.88% across the country, which decreased to 78.55% in 2012-13. Mizoram achieved more than 100% vaccination in 2012-13. The lowest percentage of Tetanus Immunisation (II+ Booster) Achievement for Expectant Mothers was observed in Arunachal Pradesh (42.61%) in 2012-13 and 11.9% in Lakshadweep in 2008-09 as compared to other states.

Eighteen States viz Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Daman and Diu and Puducherry below the National estimate (78.55%) in 2012-13.
