Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) Immunisation Achievement across India during 2008-13

India has witnessed a decreasing trend in achievement of BCG Immunisation during 2008-2013. In 2008-09, percentage of achievement was more than 100% across the country, which decreased to 93.17% in 2012-13.

Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, West Bengal, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Chandigarh and Puducherry achieved more than 100% vaccination in 2012-13.
The lowest percentage of BCG Immunisation achievement was observed in Daman and Diu (63.96%) in 2012-13 and 13.3% in Lakshadweep in 2008-09 as compared to other states.

Fourteen States vizBihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep below the National estimate (93.17%) in 2012-13.

Note: Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is a vaccine against tuberculosis.
