Annual average yield (egg) per layer during 2007-2012

India has witnessed a decreasing trend in egg per layer during 2007-2012. In 2007-08, egg per layer was 210 across the country, which increased to 166 in 2011-12. Highest egg per layer (283) was in Himachal Pradesh in 2011-12 and 266 in Chandigarh in 2007-08 as compared to other states. The lowest egg per layer (46) was in Manipur in 2011-12 and 80 in Tripura in 2007-08 and as compared to other states.

Note: Figures from 2007-08 onward are estimated based on the number of layers as per livestock census 2007 and the yield rate of concerned neighboring State (for Sikkim yield rate of West Bengal, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu yield rate of Gujarat and for Delhi yield rate of Haryana) has been used except year 2011-12 data which is estimated based on previous year data calculated by annual growth of year 2010-11.
