All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) – April 2015 to January 2016

Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures changes over time in general level of prices of goods and services that households acquire for the purpose of consumption. For construction of CPI numbers, two requisite components are weighing diagrams (consumption patterns) and price data collected at regular intervals. The data refers to All India Consumer Price Index with base year 2010 =100 and combined for both rural and urban area.

All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) -Cereal and Products has increased from 123.5 in April 2015 to 126.1 in January 2016 showing an increase of 2.6 points. All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) -Vegetables has increased from 128.6 in April 2015 to 141.5 in January 2016 showing an increase of 12.9 points. All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) -Fuel and Lighting has increased from 126.9 in April 2015 to 135.2 in January 2016 showing an increase of 8.3 points. All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) -General index has increased from 120.7 in April 2015 to 126.3 in January 2016 showing an increase of 5.6 points.

All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) for rural area -General index has increased from 121.5 in April 2015 to 128.1 in January 2016 showing an increase of 6.6 points. All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) for urban area -General index has increased from 119.7 in April 2015 to 124.2 in January 2016 showing an increase of 4.5 points.
