Average Milk Yield per Exotic/Crossbred Cow across India during 2008-09 to 2012-13

India has witnessed a fluctuating trend in average milk yield per exotic/crossbred cow during 2008-2013. In 2008-09, average milk yield per exotic/crossbred cow was 6.71 kg per day across the country, which increased to 7.02 kg per day in 2012-13. Highest average milk yield per exotic/crossbred cow (11 kg per day) was in Punjab in 2012-13 followed by 10.41 kg per day in 2008-09 as compared to other states. The lowest average milk yield per exotic/crossbred cow (4.05 kg per day) was in Assam in 2012-13 followed by 3.34 kg per day in 2008-09 as compared to other states. Twenty two States/UTs namely Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Mizoram, Orissa, Bihar, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Puducherry, West Bengal, Nagaland, Lakshadweep, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and Assam are below the National average (7.02 kg per day) in 2012-13.
