Tourism Revenue (Annual) from 2004 to 2013

Tourism Revenue (Calendar Year ending December) has increased from Rs. 279440 Million in 2004 to Rs.1058360 Million in 2013 showing an increase of Rs.778920 Million. It has increased by 278.74% during the period. The annual growth in percentage terms is 30.97% during the period. The maximum annual growth in absolute terms to the tune of Rs. 168960 Million was recorded in the year 2012 (Calendar Year ending December). The maximum annual growth in percentage terms to the tune of 21.78% was also recorded in the same year 2012 (Calendar Year ending December).

In terms of US Dollars ($), Tourism Revenue (Calendar Year ending December) has increased from $ 6170 Million in 2004 to $ 18133 Million in 2013 showing an increase of $ 11963 Million. It has increased by 193.89% during the period. The annual growth in percentage terms is 21.54% during the period. The lower annual growth in terms of US Dollars ($) as compared to annual growth in terms of Indian Rupees over the same period is due to depreciation of Indian currency vis-à-vis US Dollar.

The maximum annual growth in absolute terms to the tune of $ 3057 Million was recorded in the year 2010 (Calendar Year ending December). The maximum annual growth in percentage terms to the tune of 27.45% was also recorded in the same year 2010 (Calendar Year ending December). In terms of US Dollars ($), Negative annual growth in absolute terms to the tune of $ 696 Million was recorded in the year 2009 (-5.88%).
