Currency Notes Issued from 2000-01 to 2012-13

Notes issued in the denominations from Rs. 20 to Rs. 1000 has increased from Rs. 1986.37 Billion in 2000-01 to Rs. 11350.15 Billion in 2012-13 showing an increase of Rs. 9363.78 Billion. It has increased by 471.40% during the period. The annual growth in percentage terms is 39.28% during the period.

Notes issued in the denominations from Rs. 20 to Rs. 1000 increased from 1986.37 Billion in 2000-01 to 2308.64 Billion in 2001-02 showing an increase of 322.27 Billion (16.22%). These notes further increased to 2637.86 Billion in 2002-03 showing an increase of 329.22 Billion (14.26%); increased to 3092.63 Billion in 2003-04 showing an increase of 454.77 Billion (17.24%); increased to 3519.09 Billion in 2004-05 showing an increase of 426.46 Billion (13.79%); increased to 4132.34 Billion in 2005-06 showing an increase of 613.25 Billion (17.43%); increased to 4866.49 Billion in 2006-07 showing an increase of 734.15 Billion (17.77%); increased to 5695.18 Billion in 2007-08 showing an increase of 828.69 Billion (17.03%); to 6659.55 Billion in 2008-09 showing an increase of 964.37 Billion (16.93%); to 7668.33 Billion in 2009-10 showing an increase of 1008.78 Billion (15.15%); increased to 9102.87 Billion in 2010-11 showing an increase of 1434.54 Billion (18.71%); increased to 10253.34 Billion in 2011-12 showing an increase of 1150.47 Billion (12.64%); increased to 11350.15 Billion in 2012-13 showing an increase of 1096.81 Billion (10.7%).

The maximum annual growth in absolute terms to the tune of Rs. 1434.54 Billion was recorded in the year 2010-11. The maximum annual growth in percentage terms to the tune of 18.71% was also recorded in the same year 2010-11.
