Classification of States/UTs as per average rural population covered by PHC as on 31st March 2014

This visualization shows the average of rural population covered by a Primary Health Centre (PHC). Average rural population covered by a PHC in India is 33323. Delhi, Jharkhand and West Bengal have higher average in terms of coverage of rural population i.e. 83808, 75924 and 68408 respectively. Delhi has the highest average in terms of coverage of rural population by PHC i.e. 83808 which is 2.5 times of the average rural population covered by a PHC in case of India as a whole.

Lakshadweep, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram have the lower average in terms of coverage of rural population by a PHC i.e. 3535, 9114 and 9218 respectively. Lakshadweep has the lowest average in terms of coverage of rural population by PHC i.e. 3535 which is 10.6% of the average of India as a whole.

Note: No PHC functioning in Chandigarh.
