Peak Demand and Supply of Power during September, 2014

This visualization is based on the peak demand and supply of power in India during the month of September 2014. In India, the overall requirement of power supply was 145,925 MW and availability was 140,647 MW in the month of September 2014, which was 96.38% of requirement.

In northern region the requirement of power supply was 46,831 MW and availability was 43,931 MW that was 93.8% of requirement. In western region the requirement of power supply was 44,166 MW and availability was 42,757 MW that was 96.8% of requirement. In southern region the requirement of power supply was 35,639 MW and availability was 35,238 MW that was 98.87% of requirement. In eastern region the requirement of power supply was 16,909 MW and availability was 16,909 MW that was 98.22% of requirement. In north-eastern region the requirement of power supply was 2380 MW and availability was 2112 MW that was 88.73% of requirement.

On the basis of statistics, northern-eastern region has a wide gap in terms of supply and demand of power supply which was 11.27% and northern region has a wide gap in terms of peak demand and supply of power in India during the month of September 2014, which was 6.19%. Other regions have overall narrow gap in supply and demand.
