Index of Industrial Production (IIP) – Annual Averages from 2005-06 to 2013-14

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is a composite indicator that measures the changes in the volume of production of a basket of industrial products during a given period with respect to the volume of production in a chosen base period. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) currently has 2004-05 as base year.

The IIP General Index has increased from 108.62 in the year 2005-2006 to 172.03 in the year 2013-14. Thus it has shown an absolute increase of 63.41 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 7.93.

Mining and Quarrying has a weightage of 141.57 in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The index for Mining and Quarrying has increased from 102.27 in the year 2005-2006 to 124.71 in the year 2013-14. Thus it has shown an absolute increase of 22.44 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 2.81.

Manufacturing has a weightage of 755.27 in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The index for Manufacturing has increased from 110.29 in the year 2005-2006 to 181.88 in the year 2013-14. Thus it has shown an absolute increase of 71.59 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 8.95.

Electricity has a weightage of 103.16 in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The index for Electricity has increased from 105.16 in the year 2005-2006 to 164.7 in the year 2013-14. Thus it has shown an absolute increase of 59.54 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 7.44.
