IIP: Wood, Paper and Publishing – Annual Averages from 2005-06 to 2013-14

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is a composite indicator that measures the changes in the volume of production of a basket of industrial products during a given period with respect to the volume of production in a chosen base period. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) currently has 2004-05 as base year.

Wood and products of wood and cork except furniture; articles of straw and plating materials category has a weightage of 10.51 in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). Thus the category of Wood and products of wood and cork except furniture; articles of straw and plating materials accounts for the 1.39% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 1.05% of the entire IIP (having total weight equivalent to 1000). The index for Wood and products of wood and cork except furniture; articles of straw and plating materials has increased from 106.84 in the year 2005-2006 to 144.56 in the year 2013-14. Thus it has shown total increase of 37.72 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 4.72 points.

Paper and paper products category has a weightage of 9.99 in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). Thus the category of Paper and paper products accounts for the 1.32% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 1% of the entire IIP (having total weight equivalent to 1000). The index for Paper and paper products has increased from 106.33 in the year 2005-2006 to 138.62 in the year 2013-14. Thus it has shown total increase of 32.29 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 4.04 points.

Publishing; printing and reproduction of recorded media category has a weightage of 10.78 in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). Thus the category of Publishing; printing and reproduction of recorded media accounts for the 1.43% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 1.08% of the entire IIP (having total weight equivalent to 1000). The index for Publishing; printing and reproduction of recorded media has increased from 113.68 in the year 2005-2006 to 183.41 in the year 2013-14. Thus it has shown total increase of 69.73 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 8.72 points.
