Computer Course facilities provided to prisoners during 2013

There were 7356 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course in various prisons of India in the year 2013.
Top 20 State/UTs in terms of the prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course in the year 2013 were: Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Orissa, Kerala, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir and Assam.

Among the top 5 State/UTs in terms of the prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course in the year 2013, Bihar was on the top having 1417 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course, which was 19.26% of the total 7356 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course in India as a whole. This was an incredible achievement for Bihar, which lags behind in many socio-economic parameters.

Maharashtra had 1330 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course, which was 18.08% of the total 7356 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course in India. Gujarat had 966 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course, which was 13.13% of the total 7356 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course in India. Jharkhand had 574 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course, which was 7.8% of the total 7356 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course in India. Tamil Nadu had 478 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course, which was 6.5% of the total 7356 prison inmates who benefitted by the facilities of Computer Course in India.
