This visualization is based on the peak demand and supply of power in India during the month of March 2015. In India, the overall peak demand of power supply was 142557 MW and peak met was 137678 MW in the month of March 2015, which was 96.6% of demand.
In northern region the peak demand of power supply was 40986 MW and peak met was 38423 MW that was 93.7% of demand. In western region the peak demand of power supply was 43580 MW and availability was 43145 MW that was 99% of demand. In southern region the peak demand of power supply was 38548 MW and peak met was 37047 MW that was 96.1% of demand. In eastern region the peak demand of power supply was 17040 MW and peak met was 16932 MW that was 99.4% of demand. In north-eastern region the peak demand of power supply was 2403 MW and peak met was 2131 MW that was 88.7% of requirement. On the basis of statistics, northern-eastern region has a wide gap in terms of supply and demand of power supply which was 11.3% and northern region has a wide gap in terms of peak demand and supply of power in India during the month of March 2014, which was 6.3%. Other regions have overall narrow gap in supply and demand.
