Year-wise Actual Expenditure for Centrally Sponsored Scheme under National Food Security Act (NFSA) from 2020-21 to 2024-25

This chart provides year-wise details of actual expenditure incurred under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for the implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) from 2020-21 to 2024-25 (Till December 2024). The scheme includes assistance to state agencies for intra-state movement of foodgrains and margins for Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers. The Total actual expenditure was Rs. 35,386.2 crore. The highest annual expenditure was Rs. 8,704.46 crore in the year 2023-24. The lowest actual expenditure was Rs. 5627.17 crore in the year 2024-25. This data highlights the consistent financial support provided by the Government of India to ensure the smooth distribution of foodgrains and strengthen the public distribution system under NFSA.
