Among the States and Union Territories, the top 10 in terms of the number of households with tap water connections were Uttar Pradesh (23410589), Bihar (16035717), Maharashtra (12952888), Tamil Nadu (11070663), West Bengal (9557291), Gujarat (9118415), Karnataka (8426340), Madhya Pradesh (7526911), Andhra Pradesh (7046088), Odisha (6778163).
